N S E W CULTURAL MOROCCO TOURS

Private Tours from Marrakech

Marrakech is where most Morocco journeys begin — and for good reason. Nestled between the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and the golden edge of the Sahara, this vibrant city is the perfect launchpad for exploring everything Morocco has to offer. Whether you’re dreaming of camel rides through the dunes, wandering the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, or getting lost in the ancient medinas of Fes and Meknes — it all starts right here.

At Cultural Morocco Tours, we design private, tailor-made tours from Marrakech that are built entirely around you — your pace, your interests, your budget. No big groups. No rushed itineraries. Just you, a knowledgeable local guide, and the real Morocco.

Why Marrakech Is the Perfect Starting Point

There’s a reason travellers from around the world choose Marrakech as their base. Marrakech Menara Airport connects directly to dozens of European and international cities, making it the easiest entry point into Morocco. But beyond the logistics, Marrakech itself is a destination — its bustling Djemaa el-Fna square, the maze of the old medina, the fragrant souks, and the warm terracotta colours of its architecture set the mood for everything that follows.

From Marrakech, you can reach the Sahara in just a day’s drive, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass through the High Atlas. You’re also perfectly positioned to explore the south — Ouarzazate, the Valley of the Roses, and the kasbahs of the Draa Valley — or head north to Fes and the imperial cities. Whatever direction you choose, Marrakech puts Morocco’s greatest highlights within easy reach.

Planning Your Tour from Marrakech — What You Need to Know

Best time to visit Morocco from Marrakech:

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the most comfortable seasons for touring. The weather is warm but not intense, making long drives and outdoor activities very enjoyable. Summer in the Sahara can be extremely hot (45°C+), so if you're travelling in July or August, we recommend starting very early in the day or focusing on coastal and mountain routes. Winter (December–February) is actually lovely in most of the country — and magical if you catch snow on the Atlas Mountains.

How do our private tours work?

All our tours are fully private — it's just your group, your driver-guide, and the road. We'll collect you from your hotel in Marrakech in a clean, air-conditioned vehicle, and take care of all logistics: driving, accommodation reservations, activity bookings, and local entry fees (unless otherwise specified). You don't need to worry about a thing.

Can I customise the itinerary?

Absolutely — in fact, we encourage it. Every itinerary on this page is a starting point. Tell us where you want to go, how many days you have, what kind of accommodation you prefer (riads, desert camps, boutique hotels), and we'll shape the tour around your preferences. Just get in touch and we'll take care of the rest.

Group size:

Our tours work for solo travellers, couples, families, and small groups. We use comfortable 4x4 or minivan vehicles depending on your group size.

Common Questions

How many days do I need for a tour from Marrakech to see the Sahara?
We recommend at least 3 days / 2 nights for a comfortable Marrakech–Sahara tour. This gives you time to stop at Ait Benhaddou and the Dades Gorge on the way, spend a full evening and morning in the desert, and return to Marrakech without feeling rushed. If you have 4–5 days, you can explore even more of the south at a leisurely pace.
For first-timers, we love the 6-day or 9-day circuit — they combine the Sahara, the imperial cities (Fes, Meknes), and either Chefchaouen or the Atlantic coast. You get to see Morocco’s extraordinary variety: desert, mountains, ancient medinas, and coastal towns. It’s genuinely the best introduction to the country.

Yes, absolutely. We have lots of experience with family travel and design our family tours to be fun, comfortable, and age-appropriate. Camel rides, desert camps, and meeting Berber families in mountain villages are always huge hits with younger travellers.

Yes — we pick up and drop off directly at your hotel anywhere in Marrakech, including the medina, Gueliz, and Hivernage neighbourhoods.
Yes. We offer day trips to Essaouira, Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou, and the Ourika Valley in the Atlas Mountains. These are great if you’re spending several nights in Marrakech and want to explore the surrounding region.
