This 3-day private Morocco Desert Tour departs from Fes and ends at your accommodation in Marrakech, tracing a classic southern route through the heart of the country. Traveling southeast through the Middle Atlas — past Ifrane, the cedar forests of Azrou, and Midelt — you’ll reach the golden dunes of the Merzouga Sahara Desert for a sunset camel trek and a night in a luxury air-conditioned desert camp, before heading west through Khamlia, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Kalaat M’Gouna’s rose valley, Skoura, Ouarzazate’s film studios, and the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and finally crossing the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka to arrive in Marrakech. The tour includes a comfortable private vehicle, English-speaking driver, accommodation in a desert camp and a Kasbah hotel, and dinners and breakfasts at accommodations.
Meet your driver at your accommodation in Fes and begin your journey south-east through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas. Pass through Ifrane, often called the "Switzerland of Morocco," then continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaque monkeys. Travel onward through Midelt and admire the dramatic views of the Atlas Mountains before reaching the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, set out on a camel trek across the golden dunes, timed to catch the magical colors of the sunset. Arrive at your luxury desert camp where you'll enjoy dinner under the stars, warm campfires, and live traditional music, before spending the night in your private air-conditioned tent.
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, visit the village of Khamlia, famous for its traditional Gnawa music, where you can enjoy a cup of tea while learning about the locals and their traditions. Continue the journey towards Boumalne Dades, stopping at the magnificent Todra Gorge and its lush valley. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in a charming Kasbah hotel overlooking the beautiful Dades Valley.
Continue the journey to Ouarzazate, passing through Kalaat M'Gouna, famous for its rose valley, and the palm groves of Skoura. Visit Ouarzazate's renowned film studios and the iconic UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n'Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech, where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation by early evening.
